Measurement / Sanōva perspective

Measure the work.
Then decide what to scale.

A practical scorecard for applied AI.

Adoption, speed, and business value are different measures. A team can use an AI feature often without changing a meaningful outcome. We define success around the work completed, the quality of that work, and the effort required to operate the system.

Use a small set of complementary measures

Track speed, quality, completion, and operating effort together. Faster handling is valuable only if required information remains accurate and the next owner can use it. Define each measure so two people would calculate it the same way.

In practice

Automotive: reviewed-estimate completeness. Healthcare: useful, grounded guidance and complete escalation.

Keep the denominator honest

Report the total eligible requests, not just successful model runs. Record failures, requests that required human rescue, and cases excluded from the evaluation. Separate automation completion from completion after human review.

In practice

A success rate without its sample definition can hide the work that matters most.

Distinguish capacity from financial return

Minutes saved can create capacity, but that capacity does not automatically become cash. Consider whether the team can serve more work, reduce overtime, or reallocate time to a higher-value task. Include implementation and continuing support effort.

In practice

The Insights calculator is a planning scenario. Its output is not a measured saving or revenue forecast.

Compare like with like

Use comparable request types, source quality, and operating periods. Changes in volume, seasonality, staffing, or payer mix can affect the result. Where possible, review examples side by side and explain the limits of the comparison.

In practice

A hail surge and a quiet month are different operating environments.

Make expansion an evidence-based decision

Agree what would justify expanding the scope and what would trigger a revision. Review examples as well as aggregates. Scale when the team can operate the workflow, the quality holds, and the next increment has a defensible value.

In practice

A useful scorecard leads to a decision: expand, improve, or stop.

A useful next step

Choose the result, define the measure, and capture the baseline before changing the workflow.
